Overview

TermWebIntegrator is an integration tool for transferring terminology data between TermWeb and a local MultiTerm termbase. It transfers updates of your terminological databases on a scheduled basis, without any need of manual interaction, allowing your entire organization to have access to consistent and correct terminology. Use TermWebIntegrator to:

  • Create a copy of your TermWeb dictionary in a local MultiTerm termbase
  • Automatically transfer new and updated entries from TermWeb to the local MultiTerm termbase
  • Transfer parts of TermWeb dictionaries to different MultiTerm termbases
  • Create new term suggestions in TermWeb when a new entry is created in the local MultiTerm termbase
  • Keep track of transferred entries using the built-in logging functionality

Supported platforms

TermWebIntegrator 2.5+ can be installed on the following Windows machines:

  • Windows  7 / 8 / 10 / 11
  • Windows Server 2012 / 2012 R2 / 2016 / 2019 / 2022

Make sure to uninstall all earlier versions of TermWebIntegrator before installing a new version.

Trados Studio / MultiTerm support

  • TermWebIntegrator 2.6 supports
    • Trados Studio (2022, 2021, 2019)
    • Multiterm (2022, 2021, 2019, 2017)
  • TermWebIntegrator 2.5 supports
    • Trados Studio (2021, 2019)
    • Multiterm (2021, 2019, 2017)
  • TermWebIntegrator 2.4.1 supports
    • Multiterm (2019, 2017, 2015)

When used together with MultiTerm Server, TermWebIntegrator should not be installed on the same computer as MultiTerm Server. It can connect to your MultiTerm Server from another computer in your network, as long as MultiTerm Desktop is installed on the same machine. User For MultiTerm Server a user account with administrator permissions is required for transferring of data from TermWeb to MultiTerm.

TermWeb server

  • All versions of the Integrator support TermWeb version 3.11 or later.

User

A dedicated TermWeb user account is recommended, since synchronizations will not run if the user is already logged in from another client. The user requires the View Concept permission in Permission Schemes to access Dictionaries/Sections available on TermWeb. To add term suggestions from MultiTerm-termbase, write permissions are required selected the selected section(s): Edit Concept, Create Concept, Create Term are also required.

Java Runtime

TermWebIntegrator versions 2.4.1 and earlier required a 32-bit Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 6 or later. TermWebIntegrator versions 2.5 does not require this installation.


Deprecation of Multiterm 2015:

Users that were using Multiterm 2015 with the TermWebIntegrator 2.4 and 2.4.1 will no longer be able to do so in TermWebIntegrator version 2.5.

If the user does not need to keep any synchronization process, the user can delete the “settings.json” file after uninstalling their old version of the Integrator. This file is located in:

C:\Users<username>\AppData\Roaming\TermWeb\TermWebIntegrator

Where <username> is the Windows user name.

To keep any existing Synchronization processes the user must, after installation of the TermWebIntegrator 2.5, open the same “settings.json” file, mentioned above, in a text editor like Notepad. The file is located in:

Find and change the value "multiTermVersion":"DESKTOP2015" to "multiTermVersion":"DESKTOP2021" or the corresponding SDL Trados Version or Multiterm version that they’re switching to (i.e. DESKTOP2019 or DESKTOP2017).
