Setup TermWeb integration in XTM
These steps will guide you to setup the general settings for TermWeb integration in XTM. If you have multiple TermWeb clients and want to map each XTM customer with a TermWeb client, then go here.
- Log into XTM Cloud
- Go to → Settings → Translation → Terminology
- Fill in the requested fields
- Use terminology: TermWeb
- Client login name (or Login name in some XTM versions): A TermWeb sysadmin can see it from administration menu → Clients. In case of a single-client TermWeb installation use 'admin' here
- API Key: A TermWeb client administrator can get it from administration menu → API Key
- URL: <TermWeb URL>/services
- Click on the Synchronize button
- All available templates will appear. You can remove the templates that you want to hide and leave only the ones you want to be available for the Project administrator. In this example that is 'Geography and languages', 'TechniTerm all', 'TechniTerm and suggs only':
- The synchronize process will create a new user in TermWeb for your client with the same username as the XTM user.
Use TermWeb via the Terminology tab in XTM
- Click on Terminology tab to start using TermWeb via XTM.
- Select System settings as TermWeb engine:
- During this step the TermWeb user with the same username as the XTM user will be logged in via OpenID and TermWeb will show under the Terminology tab. A user will be automatically created in TermWeb if one with the same name does not exist:
Use TermWeb decoration in XTM editor
- Log into TermWeb and go to Admin View → API Templates → Click on a template to edit (e.g. TechniTerm all)
- Select the dictionaries and sections you want to include in the decoration. Only results from these dictionaries and sections will be shown in the decoration:
- In order to use the decoration in a project you need to edit the project's settings and select TermWeb template:
- Notice that the available templates for selection are the ones that you left in the list of this step.
- After selecting a template, start the project editor.
- Again, the TermWeb user with the same username as the XTM user will be logged in via TermWeb API and automatically created if not exist. This user's session will be used in the decoration.
- When editing the project you will get decoration results according to the template that you have selected in the previous step.
Setup TermWeb integration for different clients
- Go to XTM Customers and select the customer you want to setup.
- Go to Settings → Terminology.
- Here you can setup TermWeb integration differently for each XTM customer. This way each XTM customer can be mapped to a specific TermWeb client.
